Urrrrrrgh. I'm sure you've heard about the changes from other people.

I've already made my dreamwidth and am currently transferring everything but..... I really liked lj OTL And this account is super old on top of that and I'm already so comfy here. I'm probably going to stay until everything is permanent. And this account will have to stay up afterwards since I transferred my entries and the pictures are hosted here. Even then I'm still going to stick around lj because of all the communities here, but who knows what's going to happen to them.

Until then... I'm going to figure out how to use dreamwidth and customize it and stuff. I'll post my url once I've got everything the way I like it, but you'd probably be able to find it with some guessing. |D Then I'll cross post until lj changes completely.
I thought about just making a tumblr art blog, but the problem with that is then I'll have no place to talk about personal stuff and no way of keeping in contact with some of the people here. LJ is the one place I don't have any real life friends on so I can talk about whatever I want without worrying about them knowing something I don't want them to. (Which is why I no longer post journals on DA either. Plus no one reads my stuff haha)

But lj whyyy I didn't want to have to leave you but your changes are not for the better.

Yup! Since I can transfer entries it won't be too much of a hassle to prepare even if the changes end up being optional.

I have also made a DW account but there isn't really much activity there and some things are a bit weird to be honest and I'm so used to LJ now I'm still hoping this all is a false alarm or that the changes will be optional at least. orz

Oh I believe you can use LJ layouts on DW as well. I'm actually using one I got from one of those layout communities here. http://starlit.dreamwidth.org/272.html <--here is a tutorial.

I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm going to be here probably for a long time still and I always forget to check DW. If there are horrible changes... I don't know, sometimes I think I'm only here for the anon meme, but if something happened to it, I'd probably go, too.

I don't like these changes, either D: Now LJ looks too much like tumblr and the friends page is painfully boring T_T Grah! If they don't let us keep the old layout LJ will be a ghost town in no time o_o

A dreamwidth account sounds interesting :DD Does it allow you to lock entries like on LJ? If so I might end up joining you if the changes get worse orz

Yeah it does! You can also transfer all your old entries and icons and tags from here too, so it's convenient!
But it doesn't have it's own scrapbook system, so that's a huge downfall.

Oooooh, awesome!! :D I made a DW account and it looks so much like LJ and it's really nice <3 I don't really pay attention to the scrapbook system here though so it's not too much of a loss for me there... XD

Yeah I'm glad DW is similar to LJ! Main reason everyones moving over anyways.
Well DW doesn't have a scrapbook system at all! So if I end up moving over completely, I'd have to upload them elsewhere orz

Man, that sucks D: But the scrapbook system just seems to be all the pictures you've ever uploaded, and people can just look through your entries for those, right? Or search via tags? :D

Yeah, pretty much. I'd just be convenient if dw had their own though! Makes it easier to put them into posts and such.

They want to make LJ a little more like tumblr, like the friends page is going to turn into infinite scrolling. You can try that out actually, it's at the top of the friends page...
